Caste Based Discrimination in Nepal



The The New Civil Rights Movement was conducted NOT only to ensure Political Rights but also to RECONSTRUCT the Dalit identity in minds of all citizens as one of EQUAL; NOT greater, NOT lesser than any other. Some Examples of Caste-based Discrimination from some days ago which are came on Media.

1) Late September in Nuwakot, five members of Dalit family were beaten up, after a daughter of the family, Sujana Pariyar (10th class student) happened to touch the feet of so-called upper cast woman. The offenders were a Khadka family.
2) Mid November in Kaski, a Dalit school headmaster had his face smeared with soot for wishing to take part in a village feast. The offender was a Gurung Man.

3) Late December in Kalikot, Manbir Sunwar was trashed and murdered for entering the kitchen of a Shahi restaurant kitchen.

4) Just a few days ago in Tanahaun, Maya Bishwakarma was beaten severely by a Shrestha family. She was accused of touching the bucket of Non-dalit person.
